Company Information

Named among the top 25 contract management companies in the United States, Metz & Associates, Ltd., was formed in 1994 by John C. Metz, Harold Leininger, and Robert Aughenbaugh. With a combined 100 years of industry experience, they had a vision to provide a custom dining management service — with a special emphasis on service — for a variety of market segments, including education, healthcare, business, and industry. In keeping with its focus on client satisfaction, Metz & Associates, Ltd., expanded in 2000 to include an environmental services division to offer clients a greater variety of services.

Metz Culinary Management's "Customer First" philosophy and commitment to regional growth has assisted us in becoming a premiere food service company for the Northeastern United States. Through the years, we have remained true to our mission statement below concerning our clients and employees.

Mission Statement

Metz Culinary Management is the family-driven company that collaborates with its clients to deliver restaurant-inspired hospitality to each and every guest.

John C. Metz
Executive Chairman

In 1967, John C. Metz began his career in the food service management industry with the founding of Custom Management Corporation. The result was astounding: This small, regional provider grew into an industry leader and set standards for the competition to follow.

In 1987, Custom Management Corporation was acquired by Morrison’s Hospitality Group, and John Metz was named Chairman of “Morrison’s Custom Management.” During his tenure, he oversaw a growth of more than 900 accounts.

Mr. Metz has remained an active member of the Culinary Institute of America. His devotion to education led to his joining the Board of Overseers of Harvard University and becoming a Board Trustee at Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania.

In 1993, John Metz was awarded franchise rights from the popular T.G.I. Friday's restaurant chain. Under the corporate umbrella of Northeast Restaurant Group, Inc., John Metz has opened Friday's eateries in the Pennsylvania cities of Wilkes-Barre, Williamsport, and Quakertown as well as in the New Jersey towns of Toms River, Atlantic City, Somers Point, Turnersville, and Brick Township.

In 1994, John Metz introduced Metz and Associates, Ltd., the management company for dining services. Metz and Associates, now known as Metz Culinary Management, operates in a wide variety of settings, such as major hospitals, schools, colleges and universities, and facilities management. It has become one of the fastest-growing regional food service providers in the nation.

As an entrepreneur, John Metz has demonstrated a tenacity to succeed. The result of this determination has been strong business settings offering individuals tremendous opportunity to succeed while offering the dining public entertainment, relaxation, and — of course — great food.
