During the promotion, called “Every Day is Earth Day,” customers at all retail locations will be encouraged to reduce, reuse and recycle through the purchase of a refillable stainless steel tumbler, perfect for hot or cold beverages. To encourage the purchase, Metz & Associates is providing the first beverage free of charge and 10% off each subsequent beverage refill. The company is also donating fifty cents from every tumbler sold to the National Arbor Day Foundation, who will plant one tree for each dollar donated by the Metz Group. The promotion will run through the beginning of May or as long as the tumblers are available. 800 tumblers will be available for purchase, which will translate into 400 new trees planted from funds donated by Metz if all of the tumblers are sold.

“We also encourage guests in all of our dining service operations to become greener, by eliminating waste through consideration of the amount of napkins, condiment packets and other items they take and also through the elimination of trays in several of the college accounts we serve,” Leininger added. “We are also focusing on educating our guests on portion control to reduce waste and providing them with helpful tips for living greener lives in their own homes.”
