The remodeling project included work to the main serving area and the dining hall, which was painted with a bright color scheme in shades of blue and green that providee a trendy, yet retro vibe. Stylish lighting, new signage and newly constructed walls completed the look. A self-service salad bar and a deli station were both installed in the dining hall for the convenience of students and to improve the traffic flow through the service area. The deli bar, a popular stop at peak hours, features freshly made sandwiches and a new turbo chef oven that creates perfectly toasted subs and branded sandwiches.

InterMetzo Express, the Metz branded café, was introduced in the Marcus Foster student Center. The InterMetzo Express features a selection of Seattle’s Best coffees, as well as cappuccino and espresso drinks. InterMetzo Expess also offers a selection of fresh baked goods and desserts. A variety of menu enhancements were also made in conjunction with the renovation, which included fresh dough pizza, an expanded selection of health-conscious and vegetarian options, and a self-serve ice cream bar.

“Student satisfaction with the meals served in the Ada S. Georges Dining Hall has definitely increased since the renovation project was completed. We’ve seen a significant increase in student participation,” Daley said. “The whole dining experience has been enhanced with more foods being prepared freshly, right in view of the students, and a comfortable new look and feel to the entire dining area.”
