Greazy Spoon Development Company Announces Opening of Fourth Marlow’s Tavern Location in Kennesaw, Georgia
ATLANTA – As the growth of Atlanta begins to spread outside the city limits and suburban areas are gaining popularity, so are neighborhood eateries. Restaurateurs John C. Metz Jr., Tom DiGiorgio, Richard E. Riviera and Hank Clark, the four partners who are also behind Hi Life Kitchen and Cocktails in Norcross and Aqua Blue in Roswell, are keeping patrons in these surrounding areas of town satisfied with a gourmet take on tavern fare. On December 11, a fourth location of Marlow’s Tavern will open at Chastain Road and George Busby Highway. Marlow’s, a neighborhood restaurant concept credited with taking American tavern fare to a new level, will serve Kennesaw residents with a casual and friendly gathering spot to enjoy a great night out on the town.

“We are looking forward to bringing our updated version of the classic American tavern to Kennesaw,” says Metz. “Treating guests like neighbors is what we’re all about, and the combination of quality and comfort is what make’s Marlow’s special,” he adds.

With the same satisfying menu as the other three locations of Marlow’s, the Kennesaw location will also feature a similarly styled décor courtesy of DiGiorgio, who is also president of DK Group, a Florida-based architectural development and contract firm that has designed all locations of Marlow’s. DK Group has created inviting yet fashionable environs by utilizing exposed brick walls, dark wood accents, large leather booths, communal tables in the bar area and black and white photography for a “black on brick” motif. The 3480-square-foot tavern will serve lunch and dinner daily. The space, which seats approximately 100, also boasts a large patio area that accommodates an additional 50 guests.

Marlow’s Tavern has just released an updated winter menu that features new signature items as well as old favorites. Offering fresh, American tavern fare with an upscale twist, Metz’s menu begins with “Starters and Snacks” ($3.95-$9.95), which include favorites such as firecracker shrimp and new additions like fiery crawfish fondue served with toasted ciabatta crostini, to give guests a gourmet twist on bar appetizers. The “Soups & Salads” ($2.95-$10.95) section offers fresh finds like the Monterrey chicken salad with grilled chicken and crisp romaine served in a warm tortilla bowl with pepper jack cheese, tomato, red onion, cucumber and toasted cashews topped with chipotle vinaigrette. “Big Bar Sandwiches” ($5.95-$8.95) bring forth more than just your average burger and include options like the “Frisco” club with tender grilled chicken breast, apple wood smoked bacon, white cheddar, horseradish aioli, shaved apple and red onion slaw served on sourdough bread. The entrée selections continue with the house specialties section, “Tavern Favorites” ($10.95-$19.95), featuring hits like the serious steak and eggs - pan seared beef tenderloin with three fried eggs and béarnaise sauce – and grilled chicken capellini. No meal is complete without a tavern treat from the “Sweet Stuff” ($4.50) selection. Metz’s classic crème brûlée or a mini-bite dessert flight is sure to impress.

The wine list offers red and white selections by the glass and by the bottle at various price points. A wide variety of bottled beers rounds out the beverage selection with several local favorites such as Sweetwater 420 and Terrapin Rye Pale Ale. Marlow’s cocktail selection is designed to raise guests’ spirits with a broad menu of both modern martinis such as the winter spice martini and longstanding libations like the Manhattan.
